The Community
Reading Community Radio, most recently through Reading4u, has helped many local community groups better communicate with their effort to their supporters and users. Below is just some of the great feedback we have had about how Reading Community Radio has helped these groups!
"Thanks for having me on your show on Sunday morning. I really enjoyed it and thank you for providing us with a fantastic opportunity to talk to a wider audience about what our new Parish Centre will offer the whole local community. Your interviewing really brought out the key elements of what we are trying to do and how the new centre will help.
I hope that you get a full licence for next year as I believe that community radio is an essential part of the communication mix that really builds community spirit. If we can help and/or be involved in any way in the future we would love to do so.

Community radio brings democracy and accountability to the airwaves. At its very best it empowers local communities and gives ordinary people access to broadcasting opportunities. I am a fan!"

"Women and children from a refuge came together to devise their own radio programme, they chose the music, the children sang and all were interviewed about their own stories.
The result was a moving, uplifting programme that showed that ordinary lives are ravaged by domestic abuse but ordinary lives can be uplifted by taking action, that life after domestic abuse can have room for music, be in full technicolour. New beginnings can be made.
The women and children felt their stories were important, that they were reaching out the thousands of women out there who are still living with abuse. They really benefited from the process of the production of the programme – which was so sensitively managed. They were also thrilled to have CD copies of the programme.
The raw energy of this programme brought home to some of our funders what we are dealing with so much more poignantly and realistically than pages of stats, And – We enjoyed it – it was fun!’"
